Skateboarding made its debut at the Tokyo 2020 summer games! In the Men's Street Preliminaries, 20 participants performed in two 45-second runs followed by five individual trick rounds. Among these seven rounds, the best 45-second run and the top two trick scores were combined to form a total score. The top eight skateboarders from the Prelims proceeded to the finals, where scores were reset, and the same format of two 45-second rounds and five single trick rounds was followed.
