In this video I tell the story of the UK General Election. An election in which the Conservative Party under Harold Macmillan win a third term in office, securing a majority of 100 seats in the House of Commons.
I argue that the result is largely a product of the economic boom that the UK experienced in the post-war years, with Macmillan summarising the situation by arguing that the UK had "never had it so good."
