In today’s video we will be looking at how to create custom hand gestures with Unity’s XR hands package and its new Hand Gesture Debugger. Unity already offers recognition of simple but frequently used gestures like pinch, poke, grab and point through the Meta Aim feature but that means we can then only use those gestures for the Meta Quest devices. Now we can finally create own custom gestures. This allows us to create a variety of unique and immersive gameplay without using controllers! Keep in mind that at the time of recording we can only detect static hand gestures unlike with Meta’s hand pose detection that also allows us to detect swiping gestures for example!
