In this video I am showing how to locate and clean the mass airflow sensor in a fuel injected car or truck. The car that I am doing the job on is a 2013 Subaru Legacy with a 2.5l four cylinder engine but this same process will work in any car with fuel injection. In this video, we will first locate the sensor and then go through the process of removing the mass airflow sensor and cleaning it. Symptoms of a dirty mass airflow sensor include rough idle, poor or jerky acceleration, and difficulty starting. This is a job that anyone with some mechanical confidence can perform in their driveway.
