Here's all the Evidence Suggesting Riley is in Inside Out 2. When Riley and her Emotions first see Valentina "Val" Ortiz, Joy's reaction is completely different from when they met Lance Slashblade. While Val isn't a love interest for Riley, it doesn't rule out Riley having a crush on her. In Inside Out, when Jordan meets Riley, his Emotions panic with a "Girl Alert!" indicating a crush, but we never see what’s happening in Riley’s head. Howerver when Riley meets Val, Joy is overly excited, urging everyone to "act normal," causing panic among the Emotions when Riley acts awkwardly in front of the coolest girl she's ever met. Riley’s crushes on boys are established, but these scenes suggest that those might not be real crushes. Instead, they could be crushes Riley thinks she should have as a girl. If Riley believes being a isn’t normal, it makes sense for her to try and fit in by forcing herself to have crushes on boys. This deep form of repression could help explain Riley’s Deep Dark Secret in the post-credits scene of Inside Out 2.
