I've been keeping this female false black widow spider in my bathroom because she kills a lot of bugs. Last night I caught her with this male, presumably mating. They did this ritual a number of times that I observed. First he would grab the web and shake it about 3 times, to get her attention I assume. Then she would walk over and do this face bouncing for a little bit before separating. Roughly 30 or so seconds later, he would again grab the web and they would repeat the sequence.
Other things of note, this particular female has so far produced 7 egg sacs in the space of 2 months, far more than my casual googling claims this type of spider produces.
