AccrediTalk: OPIN 1-1, Code of Ethical Business Conduct
Operations and Infrastructure (OPIN) 1-1, Code of Ethical Business Conduct, is part of URAC's latest revision to the Specialty Pharmacy & Mail Service Pharmacy standards.
IHS CEO Dr. Tom Goddard speaks of how this standard requires that you implement a code of conduct for your organization that is adopted by your senior leadership and outlines 4 basic areas that includes:
An outline of what the principles are
Identifying which behaviors and practices are both expected and which are prohibited
Descriptions of how you handle whistleblower situations
An outline the consequences of failing to meet conduct expectations
Dr. Goddard then explains the 4 specific topics in must include in your code of prohibited"conduct.
