DrumFuckery no.231, vintage Paiste Formula 602 on 1968 Premier '54' kit, Paiste 602 20" thin ride
Today the vintage Paiste Formula 602 Thin Ride arrived. I understand this is quite an unusual, rare cymbal, so was looking forward to playing it. The 602 18" Thin Crash is also a recent purchase. They both have the word 'Thin' stamped on the top of the cymbal in red ink.
The other ride is an old 22" medium from the late 60s or early 70s, which I've owned since around 1978. The hi-hats are a vintage 602 14" thin crash on top and a PST bottom hi-hat I bought for $NZ40 recently. I'd like to replace these with 14" or 15" 602 Sound Edge hats but have spent enough lately.

It didn't help much - I felt a bit tense and struggled with the Premier kit, but persisted because I wanted to hear the 602 cymbals back. Things always sound different out front compared to behind the kit. And it's nice to have a record of the first time playing something new.
I understand the vintage of these cymbals is 1960s-'70s - nothing really old. I'll look into it further sometime - photograph the stamps, check they have serial numbers. (I don't think any are pre-serial number era.)
