Lagos has long struggled with severe traffic congestion as Nigeria's largest port city and economic hub. The China-built Lagos Blue Line provides local residents with a more convenient and efficient mode of travel. The first phase of the rail, put into operation in 2023, stretches 13 kilometers and covers major commercial areas.
