Seether's song "Truth" talks about the battle inside a person as they face their mistakes and weaknesses. The words show how they struggle with being honest and dealing with lies. Seether, a rock band from South Africa, formed in 1999 under the name Saron Gas. In 2002, they relocated to the United States and changed their name to Seether to avoid confusion with a hazardous chemical known as sarin gas. Shaun Morgan, the lead singer and guitarist, has been a founding member of the band. Dale Stewart joined as the bassist shortly after its formation, and drummer John Humphrey came on board for their second album. Since 2018, Corey Lowery has served as the band's second guitarist. Although other notable guitarists like Corey's brother Clint and Troy McLawhorn have occasionally collaborated with the band on tours or recordings, Shaun typically handles most of the guitar work for their albums.
