As per exit polls and other poll predictions by political analysts, Neck-and-neck battle between the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) and its main opponent Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) is on the cards. Both parties have contested in all 40 seats in Mizoram. More than 4,000 personnel are involved in the counting process. In all, there are 399 tables for the EVMs and 56 for the counting of postal ballots
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on Sunday exuded confidence that the MNF will return to power by crossing the magic number of 21 in the 40-member assembly and said he will prioritise resource mobilisation to improve the financial condition of the northeastern state, if the party forms the government.
