SSAC23: Advantage US Tennis: Leveraging Performance Analytics & Tech to Provide a Competitive Edge
In 2009, USTA Player Development began a new era with a change in leadership and a focus on a teaching and Coaching Philosophy that would help to unite the tennis community with a common language and simple principles. Initially, video and basic coaching and performance data were used to validate principles of the philosophy and communicate technical areas of focus. Over the next decade, the development of more advanced performance analytics efforts would be among the most important contributing factors to the resurgence of American tennis. Our competitive advantage is not access to technology but our common language, culture, communication and collaboration with players and coaches at every level of the American tennis pathway.
