In this video you will understand the Block Diagram of Computer System. Block diagram of computer system mainly consists of three parts:- Input unit, CPU and Output unit.
Input unit is an unit through which we enter data and instructions to the computer system. The data is entered though various input devices such as keyboard, Mouse, joystick etc.
CPU stands for Central processing unit and it is known as the brain of computer system. CPU is further divided into three parts:- Memory, ALU and CU.
Memory is a storage media which is used to store data temporarily or permanently. It is of two types: Primary Memory and Secondary Memory.
ALU stands for Arithmetic and Logical Unit, ALU performs the basic arithmetic and logical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication division etc.
CU stands for control unit and it controls all the activities and operations of computer system.
All the information sent to the computer system once processed is received by the user through the output unit or output devices. output unit displays the output either in soft or in hard copy. Devices like Monitor, Printer, Plotters, Speakers etc are the examples of some commonly used output devices.
