What You'll Need
Old T-shirts or fleece blankets
Scissors
A measuring tape

Step 1: Cut Out the Strips
First, you'll need to cut your T-shirt or blanket into strips. The width of each strip should be about 2 inches, and they can be anywhere from 2 feet to 4 feet long.

You'll want to end up with 4 strips of fabric in total. Using different colors is a great way to mix things up and make the toy even more fun for your pup.

Step 2: Tie the Ends Together
Next, line up the ends of the strips and tie them together in a knot. Make sure it's tied securely, since this is what will hold the toy together. Now you have four connected strips ready to be braided.

Step 3: Braid the Strips
Now we're onto the fun part – braiding! Take the strips and braid them together. You remember how to do this from when you were a kid, right? If you don't, that's okay, it's pretty easy!

All you need to do is overlap each strip with the one to its left, just like this. Go all the way through until you've made a nice, tight braid. Once you reach the end, tie another knot to keep everything in place.

And there you have it – your very own DIY dog rope toy! Now all that's left is to give it to your pup and watch them play.
