Publisher Harper Collins have announced that they are “improving” Agatha Christie’s boom, making them better suited to today’s sensitivities. You might have heard about the same fate befalling Ronald Dhal a few months ago. If this sounds eerily similar to Orwell’s dystopian vision, it is. Amazingly, some fool at Harper Collins believes they can rewrite Christie’s book, thus saving us the trouble of thinking for ourselves, to decide for ourselves what we find offensive, and to learn about society as it was in the past, when the books were written.
One must wonder what cancel culture will go after next. Art, poetry, music, YouTube videos???
