A unique feature of the resort of Sharm El Sheikh is that along its entire coast, starting from the famous bay of Naama Bay and ending with its far part, there are magnificent, truly unearthly beauty coral reefs, densely populated with a wide variety of inhabitants.
Thanks to these reefs, Sharm El Sheikh is a favorite destination for divers.
In May 2015, we were staying in a hotel located in the far part of Sharm El Sheikh "Renaissance Golden View Beach resort".
It is known that this hotel is located in close proximity to the bay and the site of Ras Umn Sid, which the famous explorer of the sea Jacques Yves Cousteau included in the list of the 10 best dive sites in the world.
Of course, most of the time in this beautiful place I spent in the water and shot videos.
Here's what came out of it, in the end.
From the first acquaintance with the underwater world of this wonderful place, it literally takes your breath away!
When, having descended from the panton, you put your masked head under the water, you suddenly find yourself in a wonderful, wonderful world.
Mesmerized by its fantastic beauty, I found myself several times forgetting to take a breath.
The first glance through the glasses of the mask immediately captures a colorful enchanting dance, a fantastic multicolored cloud-a swarm of fish of all colors and sizes, hovering over a bizarre alien terrain.
From the surprise and extreme strangeness of the picture, for some time, almost deprived of the ability to move, you watch with fascination the grandiose Brownian dance of life, and after a short contemplation of this enchanting picture, you involuntarily plunge into a meditative state.
And after a while, with a relaxed mind, you begin to distinguish details.
Here the view captures small fish-chromis, which have a very funny, and as it seemed to me, touching coloring: the head and half of the body are black, and the second half of the body and tail are white.
A little larger in size, brisk red fish, with a body of rapid shape, which I called "neon" in my mind.
Then, from the general extravaganza, the eye catches a leisurely, mostly yellow, butterfly fish and angel fish, distinguished by an unusually beautiful shape and no less beautiful coloring.
Butterflies and angels add color to the already colorful overall picture.
From time to time, I would dive to a depth of about six or eight meters and slowly swim along the seething life of the sheer wall of the reef, watching its inhabitants with fascination.
The most notable inhabitants of the reef are the famous surgical fish and their closest relatives - rhinos.
These fish immediately attract the attention of the diver, mainly because they are quite large, and have a stunning beauty in shape and color.
Most of the time, these fish are busily and intently eating something on the branches of corals, and in their appearance you can read some condescending irritation at the wire of an uninvited guest.
A little further from the reef step, at a depth of ten to twenty centimeters, small, striped, slightly fluorescent fish are swirling.
Their English name is sergeant fish, and their original Arabic name is "abudefdufs", which means"masters of the reef".
The Abudefdufs with a peculiar friendliness escorted me to the depths, and were happy to meet me on the surface.
Several times I met gray-speckled blowfish or pfuffers swimming out of the deep crevices of the reef.
Most often, they drift slowly over the coral, gently vibrating their translucent pectoral fins, looking resentfully at the world with their round, slightly protruding eyes.
Brown striped zebras are also found there.
There are bright, gaudily painted with all the colors of the rainbow, lipped parrot fish with surprised and slightly stupid faces on the reef.
Also, from time to time, there are always seriously preoccupied yellow-and-red-striped Klunzinger thalassomas.
From time to time, in shallow crevices, you can see shy reddish fish-squirrels.
Not far from the reef, a huge flock of silver caesias periodically appears.
Right under the pontoon there is a flock of smug, handsome black-spotted grumblers and several large two-striped Red Sea carp.
In the same place, but a little deeper, it was often possible to meet large cranks with fluorescent blue spots along the body.
Even deeper, on the step of the reef, there are broom-tailed heylins and strange flat file fish.
A couple of times, already at great depth, I saw stingrays lying on the sand, artfully imitating the color and texture of the bottom.
Of course, it is impossible not to say about the corals.
The vast majority of them are beige-brown, but there are pink and blue. The shape of corals is the most diverse.
Summarizing all of the above, we can say that despite the fact that the reef is inhabited by a typical set of representatives of the Red Sea fauna, it still presents a colorful, downright fascinating picture.
Of course, this reef will not leave indifferent any diver who has visited it.
