Mil Islas (a thousand Islands) is located in the Mazatec region of the Papaloapan basin, north of the state of Oaxaca, near Tuxtepec. It is a place with little tourism, so it preserves its authenticity. Plus, you can enjoy Mil Islas without other people.

The only way to get to Soyaltepec Island is by boat, crossing the lake formed by the Miguel Alemán dam.
