Configure Active Directory Sites and Services in Windows Server 2022

1. Prepare

- DC21 : Domain ControllerYi.vn - HANOI, IP 10.0.0.21, Default Gateway IP 10.0.0.254 | DC22 : Member DomainYi.vn - HAIPHONG, IP 10.0.2.22, Default Gateway IP 10.0.2.254

- DC23 : Domain MemberYi.vn - HCM , IP 10.0.3.23, Default Gateway IP 10.0.3.254 | DC254 : Routing Server, IPs 10.0.0.254, 10.0.2.254, 10.0.3.254

2. Step by step : Configure Active Directory Sites and Services on DC21 and check replication between Sites

- DC22 HAIPHONG : Promote to Domain Controller

+ Server Manager - Manage - Add Roles and Features - Next to Server Roles - Select 'Active Directory Domain Services' - Add Features - Next and Install - Close

+ Click Notifications - Click 'Promote this server to a domain controller' - Select 'Add a domain controller to an existing domain'

- Type the Directory Services Restore Mode DSRM password : Enter Password and Confirm password - Next to Install - Restart

- DC23 HCM : Do the same DC22

- DC21 HANOI : Create and Configure Sites HANOI, HAIPHONG and HCM

+ Server Manager - Tools - Active Directory Sites and Services - Sites - Right-click 'Default-Fist-Site-Name' - Rename to HANOI

+ Right-click Subnets - New Subnet... - Prefix :: 10.0.0.0/24, click HANOI - OK

+ Right-click Sites - New Site... - Name : HAIPHONG - Click 'DEFAULTIPSITELINK' - OK . Right-click Subnets - New Subnet... - Prefix :: 10.0.2.0/24, click HAIPHONG - OK

+ Right-click Sites - New Site... - Name : HCM - Click 'DEFAULTIPSITELINK' - OK . Right-click Subnets - New Subnet... - Prefix :: 10.0.3.0/24, click HCM - OK

+ Configure 'ADDS Replication' : Inter-Site Transports - Right-click IP - New Site Link... - Name : HANOI-HAIPHONG, select HANOI and HAIPHONG - Add - OK

+ Right-click HANOI-HAIPHONG - Properties - Change Schedule... - Set Monday through from Friday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM : Replication Not Avaiable or you custom - OK

+ Right-click DEFAULTIPSITELINK - Rename to HANOI-HCM - Right-click HANOI-HCM - Properties - Select HAIPHONG - Remove

- Change Schedule... - Set Monday through from Friday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM : Replication Not Avaiable or you custom - OK

+ Site HANOI - Server - Right-click DC22 - Move... - Choose HAIPHONG - OK, Right-click DC23 - Move... - Choose HCM - OK

+ Click 'Windows PowerShell' - Using commands line to check sites replication : repadmin /kcc, repadmin /showrepl, repadmin /bridgeheads, repadmin /replsummary, dcdiag /test:replications
