it comes with Sony software to transfer files, but it is not necessary as you can just drag and drop files through Windows.
It works with a PC with Vista and up, I don't know about older OSes, I haven't tried it and the manual says nothing about older OSes.
It also works with Mac OS X+ and Linux, so I am guessing it should work with any OS which supports USB.
