I've recently gotten into Astrophotography and managed to get a relatively inexpensive set up going.
This is specifically for Astrophotography of Deep Space Objects (DSOs). Other equipment may work better for Planetary, Lunar, and Solar. My general approach should work for other Alt-Az mounts but there are some important factors that you should consider before buying a telescope for Astrophotography. More on those in a later video, or check out some of the other channels below.
For reference, I am living in a small city right now and am able to drive about 35 mins to get to a Bortle lvl 4 sky.
PLEASE make sure you do your research first! Don't just go out and get over your head there are a lot of factors
My set up primarily includes:
Celestron 130 STL ($~400, used for $200-$250 if your patient)
Celestron Power Tank ($70, ***ONLY NECESSARY IF YOU COMMUTE***)
Telescope Mirror Position Mod Supplies (~$20, See Link below)
Remote Shutter Release ($6 - $20, Most any will do.)
T-Ring Adapter ($~15, Specific to your camera brand/ camera mount)
Canon EOS Rebel XSI/450D ($~75 Used)
12V Adapter (~$12)
CLS Filter ($50 - $100, *Recommended for Light Polluted Areas*, I sometimes use this but only when shooting from in the city)
Total: $400 - $700 (Used has worked great for me and will get you on the lower end of this range.)

I have done this mod twice now and some of the screws are really hard to get at but it's been successful both times.
Keep an eye out for more videos about why I chose this scope, What programs/software I use, and the full imaging process!

Edit:
I just made a website with some more information about Astrophotography! It's got some great info covering the basics as well as a bit more detail about my process. Check out the Astrophotography section!

Edit:
The Primary mirror mod still does allow optical viewing with some lenses. I am able to achieve focus with my 32mm Plossl and the same 32mm with a barlow though the assembly does stick very far out. That is will the focusser maxed outwards and the lens slightly out/not fully inserted.
