'We are clearly in a war zone': DC Councilman Trayon White calls for National Guard's help

On Tuesday, D.C. Councilmember Trayon White asked for the National Guard to step in amid the District's rise in crime.
Already this year, more than 160 lives have been lost in D.C. Comparatively, between 2009 and 2018, the total number of murders each year was lower than what the District has seen so far this year.
After White spoke a number of women, mothers and sisters, directly impacted by the violence spoke.
