BBC new solar farm built at Hawton in six weeks
This 5.0MWp solar 'green energy' power station only received planning permission in late May 2011. Since then it was a race against time to complete the project following the government's sudden decision to change the FiT payments for large scale solar by 72%, taking effect at the end of July. The Lightsource team stayed focused and committed to the task in hand, managing to complete the project in just six weeks.
