This video provides a tutorial on Citric Acid Cycle. The cycle occurs in the mitochondria and there are total eight reactions. Acetyl-CoA enters the TCA cycle with two carbon atoms and leaves the cycle with two Co2. The electrons liberated through the oxidation of acetyl CoA reduce coenzymes to NADH and FADH2. The cycle also synthesises one molecule ATP through substrate-level phosphorylation. During, one round of TCA cycle, 3 NADH, 1FADH2, 1 ATP and 2Co2 are generated. Together, there 12 ATP synthesised per oxidation of one molecule of acetyl CoA.

The following topics are covered in this lesson,

1. Tricarboxylic acid cycle
2. Citric acid cycle
3. Krebs cycle
4. Reactions of citric acid cycle
5. Regulation of citrate synthase enzyme
6. Alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase enzyme
7. Succinate dehydrogenase enzyme
8. Malate dehydrogenase enzyme
9. Aconitase enzyme
10. Malate dehydrogenase enzyme
11. Oxaloacetate
12. Citrate synthase enzyme
13. Succinate dehydrogenase enzyme
