Alberta bear attack survivor shares his story: “Something you see in a horror movie”
Carmelo Silvestro, a bow hunter, is stepping back outdoors with a new sense of caution.
Silvestro was out for the opening of elk season when he heard footsteps — but it wasn’t an elk, it was mother grizzly and her two cubs.
“They were large, I would probably put them at about 250 lbs each, just the cubs alone,” Silvestro told Global News.
According to Silvestro they seemed to spook and started to run off, but the mother turned back.
“Probably when she was about ten yards away, locked eyes and in that moment, I knew something was going to happen here.
