In this video, #AmitBhawani shows you a very different way of using your GoPro Hero 9 Camera.
Today I will be showing you some very different ways of using your Action Camera that's the GoPro and I have got the latest GoPro Hero 9 with me. Let's look at how you can use this camera as your Car's Dashcam, your computer's Webcam, and also as your home's security camera. Maybe quite useful when you are on a holiday and need a camera for these purposes.
Let's get started
Webcam - GoPro officially supports the webcam feature and you can use it with your Hero 4 to the Hero 9 black and also need the latest software update on the same along with a Type C Cable. A small software called as GoPro Webcam Desktop Utility to be downloaded on your computer, link given in description.
Connect your GoPro with your Computer and you get the little app that you need to open. Tap on the Show Preview option. By default, the resolution is set to 720P that you can switch to 1080P.
You have the option to “Mirror” or “Flip” your view and you can also use the same GoPro as your webcam in many apps like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Skype, Twitch via OBS, BlueJeans, GoTo Meeting, Snap Camera & Facebook Rooms

Security Camera - Next let's use the GoPro as your Security Camera which is Using GoPro Labs Firmware. First of all, you need to download the latest firmware specifically for the Labs from the link in the description and then extract the contents onto an SD Card. Next just turn ON your camera and the firmware installation will begin. It will beep and turn itself off and on several times. A checkmark on the front screen will let you know when it's done.
Next up the process is a little technical but if you spend a little time on this you will be able to get the right results. You can visit Gopro.com/Labs and end up on this page. Click on the Custom link available on Github - https://gopro.github.io/labs/control/... and following this you need to set the right settings. In my case I went with these settings and here's a demo on how the camera records whenever it sees motion in the frame if not it just stays ON. You can connect it to Power and keep it ON all the time to use it as a security camera.
DASHCAM - If you plan to use your GoPro as a Dashcam only in emergency situations first and foremost suggestion would be removing the battery from the camera and get it continuous power, that could be either with a Powerbank or your Car's direct supply. Next, mount the camera and you can set the right position and start recording with it like your regular camera. Of course, you can also set the same Motion Sensor mode as suggested earlier but most probably you might end up with way many clips that you might have to manage later. Do not use it as a permanent dash cam but I'm suggesting options you can use and get the max out of your camera.
