Fidelity Platform: Remove Feature Tool
Defeaturing multiple cylindrical holes or non-cylindrical hole-like features is a time-consuming process during CAD pre-processing. In most CFD aerodynamic analysis applications, these features are simplified. For example, automotive truck chassis geometries will have many such features that are generally closed to achieve good quality mesh and reduce the mesh count. In Fidelity 2024.1, with the use of the Remove Feature option, most of the cylindrical hole features can be defeatured with very minimum user inputs on the hole sizes and just a click of a button. Non-cylindrical features can also be defeatured quickly by selecting the surfaces corresponding to those features. This reduces the CAD pre-processing time drastically.
