Escape from Tarkov (from English — Escape from Tarkov) is a multiplayer online game in the genre of tactical first-person shooter with RPG and MMO elements, developed and published by Battlestate Games. The game, announced in 2015, has been in "closed beta testing" since 2017.
The game takes place in the fictional Russian city of Tarkov, gripped by anarchy; players in the role of fighters of warring private military companies must make forays into various areas of the city, trying to collect valuable items there and leave the dangerous area. At the same time, each player opposes both rival players and a computer-controlled opponent. If the character dies, all his equipment and collected items will be lost.
