My good friend Jake (GPLaps) did a thing in the new Isle of Man TT game recently, and on a discord some friends and I were talking about how this event gets to continue despite people dying every year. Every year since 1937 with the exception of 1982 as it so happens. Nine people killed during 2005, several last year, one this year.

But, like motorsport in the 1960s it's 'yep, this is part of it'.

Maybe I don't get it because I'm not into bikes. I'm not in that world, I'm in a world where if someone dies or is injured, things are put in place to make sure it's unlikely to happen again. The TT? They go back the next year.

So why does it carry on despite the destruction? I try to figure it out.
