Never before in human history has knowledge exploded like now. Awesome knowledge in industries, sciences, and all kinds of disciplines has eclipsed what no other generation has ever seen before. In the Garden that was the one thing that stands out for all time. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Satan understood right away what knowledge meant, and that is what he tempted the first two humans with. The reason is because he heard God warn Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Satan knows that there is a lust in mankind for knowledge because there is a great power to it.
To the ungodly it gives them a false sense of god-like power. Yet to the Christian it has a different form of temptation but the same outcome. Knowledge is a good thing as we are told in hundreds of scriptures about the attaining knowledge of God.
Along with the flood of knowledge in the world of the unsaved, there is now more than ever people having dreams, visions, and words of knowledge by the tens of thousands. Every day YouTube and bloggers are sharing their weekly words they say they are getting from the Lord. They are telling dreams and even more dreams. Many of which contradict each other.
Yet both sides say they know the voice of the Lord, and know for a fact they have the truth. This has caused mass confusion and detrimental chaos. I believe that many people that have true gifts are given direct words, dreams and visions of God. However, there are many that flat out are not getting them from God at all causing mass hysteria and fear.
Satan knows how people of this post modernist Christian era are fast trackers, and want instant knowledge. They run from one prophecy to another like thrill rides at a theme park. They hunt daily for the exciting tabloid-like breaking news from Heaven. They throw all of their believing weight on what people say they heard from God and swear by it and defend it. Then when the wind shifts, they trash the last word they heard from God for a new shiny coin.
However, there are many others that know the difference being seasoned in the word and live committed life in Christ. When they hear a word, dream or vision, they listen through tried and tested ears, and take it to the Lord in prayer who "bears witness of the truth." God wants everyone to be careful what information is coming to them in His name, and the danger of what they are giving their belief over to.
He does not and will not endorse an atomic particle of a lie in anything. "Every word of God is pure, He is a shield who put their trust in Him." He wants His people to rely completely on His pure word and witness power.
There is nothing wrong with the right kind of knowledge, in fact we are to grow in it as we are told by God, and through the writers of the books in the Bible all the days of our life. Just be careful where you place your steps.
