West Seattle streets to get more speed cushions, humps in latest bid to curb street racing
Efforts are underway to reconfigure several major thoroughfares in West Seattle to cut down on street racing and other dangerous driving.
Speed humps and other traffic-calming measures will soon be installed along Harbor Ave SW, Alki Ave SW, and 56th Ave SW. The design phase has concluded and the work to install concrete speed cushions can begin.
Seattle Department of Transportation plans to nearly double the number of existing speed bumps already in place.
