This Richard III Escorted Tour is led by specialist tour operators Travel Editions and offers guests an in-depth tour of key locations in Richard III’s life. During a two-night stay at the 4* Hilton Hotel in Leicester, guests are accompanied by historian and Richard III expert - Julian Humphrys.
Beginning with an immersive overview of Richard’s life at the Richard III Visitor Centre, guests then take the short drive to Bosworth to visit the Heritage Centre, and the battlefield where it is thought Richard III was slain. In the evening lead archaeologist and fieldwork director on the Greyfriars dig, Matthew Morris, joins guests to give a lecture about the discovery and identification of Richard III’s remains.
Day two sees the tour take guests beyond Leicester and back to Richard III’s roots, including to his birthplace at Fotheringhay Castle.
