My #1 Tip For New Survivors!
For those of you who are new to playing Dead by Daylight the game can be quite scary and stressful, if you happen to find this short video I hope this helps!
My #1 Tip is to simply evaluate the situation before moving in to save a fellow survivor off of hook.
If you're a new survivor and don't have the perk, Borrowed Time, this tip especially applies to you. Borrow Time essentially allows you to save a survivor from hook and it give them a short window of time where they cannot be injured/downed again.
Without Borrowed Time it is especially crucial to evaluate before you rescue anyone off hook.
Let the survivor hang out on hook for a few seconds while you finish a Generator if you are above 70% progress on said generator, the survivor can wait a few seconds.Once the Gen is done you may go for the save as long as the killer is not near by, if the killer is near the hook in chase or face camping you will have to reevaluate the situation.
If the killer is face camping the hook it really comes down to which killer it is and if you have another survivor near by to help with the hook save. If you are new to survivor and it is a Bubba face camping the hook, unless someone on the team has borrowed time it may be wise to allow that hooked survivor to stay on hook for as long as the killer camps it... it is a very difficult save to make against a Bubba as he can down everyone at the hook with his chainsaw.
If the killer is not a Bubba and face camping, try to beckon another survivor to help you with the rescue. One survivor can body block the killer and take one hit, while the other saves the person on hook. This is still a fairly risky play.
If you are trying to make the save alone against a face camper, you will want to pretend you are unhooking the survivor by clicking and unclicking the save button. You Must bait the killer into hitting you so they will be unable to grab you off of the save... that would be devastating obviously.
Ideally with any hook save you want to wait until the killer is far enough away that you can save the survivor safely, always follow the survivor to take a protection hit or let them follow you if willing so you can heal them.
