In this tutorial, I'll be showing you how to use Google Maps without an internet connection, you can download and save maps for offline use. Here's how you can do it:
1. Open the Google Maps app on your smartphone or tablet.
2. Ensure that you're connected to the internet.
3. Search for the location or area you want to save for offline use.
4. Once the location is displayed on the map, tap on the name or address of the location at the bottom of the screen. This will bring up additional information.
5. Tap on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the screen to open the options menu.
6. From the options menu, select "Download offline map" or "Download."
7. You can then adjust the size of the map area to download by zooming in or out and moving the map as needed. Keep in mind that larger areas will require more storage space on your device.
8. After adjusting the map area, tap on the "Download" or "Save" button to start the download process.
9. Wait for the map to be downloaded. You'll see a progress bar indicating the download status.
Once the map is downloaded, you can access it offline by opening the Google Maps app, even if you don't have an internet connection. Note that while the downloaded map will provide you with basic navigation and directions, some features like live traffic updates or searching for specific locations may not be available offline.
It's important to periodically update your offline maps as they can become outdated over time due to changes in roads, businesses, or other locations.
