The Singleton is the most popular design pattern used in Unity (aside from probably the component pattern because... well the engine inherently runs off that), but its also the most hated pattern by veterans.
Whats good? Whats bad? What should you look out for when using it? And also... what is it?
I cover that here and show how you can make an instance of a singleton with an AudioManager example.
TLDR - Its quick and easy to implement, its abused by the inexperienced, and I'll still use them in every game jam I attend.
