Union Health Ministry said that India's national expert group on the Covid-19 vaccine administration is in conversation with all vaccine manufacturers, including domestic and foreign. The Ministry's response came after it was asked if India was considering a tie-up with Pfizer. "National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration is in talks with all manufacturers. When we continue this dialogue, we not only look at the status of the development of their vaccines, we also look at the regulatory approvals as to where they have progressed and we also engage in a dialogue about the logistical requirements," Health Secretary, Rajesh Bhushan said. "This is a continuously changing, dynamic situation and if and when the regulatory approval comes, we will share it with you," he added. On November 9, Pfizer made an announcement on a vaccine that it developed with BioNTech. The US pharmaceutical giant said that its vaccine was over 90 percent effective based on Phase 3 trial.
