In a world of connectivity, we have forgotten how to connect with the most important thing: ourselves. Because we don’t know where we come from, we don’t know where to go. When we relate to ourselves, we can grow at a personal and professional level, but being connected with ourselves requires a deep awareness and understanding of our own thoughts, emotions, beliefs, values, and desires. It means being in tune with your inner self, having a sense of self-awareness and being comfortable with who you are.
This connection can be nurtured through the Gothic-Jungian lens as a way to connect with yourself through the understanding of archetypal characters, the exploration of the Shadow, symbolism and imagery, dreams and the unconsciousness, duality and transformation, myth and folklore, mystery and ambiguity, light and darkness, and binomials. All this can be done through reading and writing of dreams and fantasies.
