Here's my Zelda Echoes of Wisdom inspired video game composition, Echoes of Wisdom! I'm Sab and I love saxophone and video games, so now I make compositions that combine two of my favorite things!

It has been SO long since I've gotten to make music with my quartet, and I'm really glad we finally changed that!

This summer I was looking at games releasing this fall, and forgot that Zelda Echoes of Wisdom was releasing so soon! The art style is so similar to the Link's Awakening remake for switch, and thought it would be fun to write something in a similar vein! At the time, we hadn't heard much of the Echoes of Wisdom music, but I wanted to play on the wind quintet sound we hear so much of in Link's Awakening.

So at the start of the month, I quickly wrote my first original wind quartet piece, Echoes of Adventure. I was really nervous as I hadn't done any wind quartet arranging or writing in 3 or so years, but I was up to the challenge. I felt confident in my ability to write parts that would stand well on their own for each musician, but still connect into one whole piece.

And of course, I had to reach out to my quartet! We were all excited to make music together after so long, and I think it really paid off. Everyone absolutely delivered on this project.

This was actually the first project in quite awhile, where the mix came very easily to me. Most of the time I had Reaper open, I was doing editing of audio such as tuning, timing, and volume automation. I'm very thankful that I got to work with not only incredible musicians, but engineers as well. It helped the mix fall into place so fast!

As for the video, apparently everyone except me got the memo to wear blue for the video, which honestly worked out really well haha. The main colors for the new Zelda game are blue and purple! I wanted to keep the video simple, so I just focused on clean cuts. Also, there's a small surprise for the video at the very end👀
