How to install SAP Gui for ubuntu

Installing a GUI (Graphical User Interface) for Ubuntu Server 20.04 can be useful if you prefer a graphical interface over the command line or if you need to run applications that require a GUI. Here are the steps to install a GUI for Ubuntu Server 20.04

Connect to your Ubuntu Server 20.04 via SSH or open a terminal window if you have physical access to the server.

Update your system packages by running the following command:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
Install the GNOME desktop environment by running the following command:

sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop
If you prefer a different desktop environment, you can replace "ubuntu-desktop" with the package name for your preferred desktop environment. For example, for the XFCE desktop environment, run the following command:

sudo apt install xfce4
After the installation is complete, reboot the server to start the GUI. You can do this by running the following command:

sudo reboot
Once the server has restarted, you should see the graphical login screen. Enter your username and password to log in to the desktop environment.

If you want to switch between the command line interface and the GUI, you can use the following command to start or stop the graphical interface:

sudo systemctl stop graphical.target
That's it! You now have a GUI installed on your Ubuntu Server 20.04.
