As for the survivability of the machine, in this aspect we are faced with both a weak side and a strong one. First of all, the Type 4 Heavy now has very impressive frontal armor characteristics. At the front, both the turret and the hull are 250 millimeters thick, but as you can see on the side of the model, in some places these figures have been increased quite well. Of course, level ten vehicles will often penetrate you, but if a WoT Type 4 Heavy tank slightly tightens its hull, the lead becomes even larger, and then even the top tank destroyers will have to charge gold.
If we talk about the sides of the car, at right angles they are, of course, vulnerable. But with the correct positioning of this giant, hiding the frontal projection and showing the side from behind cover at a good angle, the Japanese Type 4 Heavy heavy tank will be able to repel anything. First, let's look at the usual Type 4 Heavy gun, which this tank has had for quite some time. The 139.7 mm barrel has a powerful alphastrike, but a rather mediocre rate of fire, which is why the DPM is only about 1800 units. Of course, this is not so little, but we are far from reaching the record.
From a penetration point of view, we are doing well. But it won’t hurt to carry 10-15 gold BBs with us, because we will often have to engage in battle with very armored heavies.
The accuracy of our gun, as expected, is poor. The spread of the Type 4 Heavy WoT tank is large, the aiming time is quite slow, and the stabilization is weak. But the muzzle goes down 10 degrees, which is very comfortable and strong in many situations.
But with the release of patch 0.9.17.1, the situation with weapons changed somewhat and the Type 4 Heavy heavy tank received at its disposal an alternative cannon with a caliber of 152.4 millimeters, which has a hellish alphastrike, literally the most powerful among the TT-9.
The only problem with this weapon is that it only fires high explosives (regular and gold ones, which have more damage), and with them the Type 4 Heavy has very low penetration. Moreover, even if you get into heavily armored places, you can consistently deal from 300 to 600 units of damage. Now imagine what the damage will be if you shoot at a vulnerable spot or at a frankly cardboard tank.
But the price you pay for being able to deal that much damage is even worse accuracy. With this gun, the Type 4 Heavy WoT gains even greater dispersion, very slow aiming, but the excellent air-damage characteristics remain with us.
