Testing out the new changes to my proa under various conditions.

1. Wider total beam. Previously it was too easy to capsize. Watching videos of Marshallese proa I noticed they were very wide. it looked like a width 2/3 or 3/4 of total length.
2. double purchase single ended mainsheet. Previously I had a double ended mainsheet, but it often snagged. I figured out the mast should rake over steeper than the yard, that way the tack will lift above the deck during the shunt and avoid snags. With a single multipurchase mainsheet I can hold on to more sail power.
3. pair of brailing lines. It seems more obvious to have just a single brailing line, but it's not just for bundling the sail up. If you pull the windward brail up slightly, it gives the sail belly, for light winds. If you pull the leeward brail up, you spill the wind from the top proportion of the sail, and reduce power.
4. better steering oar. Less difficult to sail down wind.
5. cleat on mast, for halyard and brailing lines. I just lashed two sticks onto the mast. Watching videos of traditional pacific sailing craft they often don't use cleats at all, just knots, but I've seen cleats like this on Marshallese videos.
6. triple purchase windward stay. I had an old (i think) dinghy mainsheet so I used it here.
7. wind indicator ribbon. A ribbon or flag is much better than a mast top arrow, because shows not only wind direction but also strength!
