Stephanie Rose’s hair has been through it all – we’re talking box bleach kits and ombre dyeing. 🌈 As part of our Hair Stories series, she shares her dry and damaged hair journey with Dove.
It all started when Stephanie Rose cut off her own bangs at age 7 – sound familiar?
From then on, Stephanie had to wear a bandana to school to hide the mishap and her teenage years involved a lot of at-home hair care. She had damaged hair, with lots of split ends and dryness. Like many of us, it took Stephanie Rose a while to find the right hair care routine and products that work for her thick hair.

In 2019, Dove co-founded the CROWN Coalition in the US to address race-based hair discrimination through legislative advocacy and societal change. Mitchell of California, to ensure protection against discrimination based on race-based hairstyles by extending statutory protection to hair texture and protective styles such as braids, locs, twists, and knots in the workplace and public schools. Our mission is to advance efforts to end hair discrimination and to create a more equitable and inclusive beauty experience for Black women and girls.
