The BJP on Thursday carried out protests against the Karnataka government over the Valmiki Board's alleged multi-crore scam. The issue surfaced when P Chandrasekharan, the accounts superintendent of the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation Limited (KMVSTDCL), died by suicide on May 26, citing pressure from senior officials to misappropriate funds worth Rs 87 crore. Chandrasekharan named two officials in his six-page suicide note. Former Karnataka Minister and Congress MLA B Nagendra was sent to six-day ED custody after being arrested in connection with the multi-crore scam.
