SOLVED Read Description - Audi A2 Concert Radio SAFE mode & RDS / TP code fault problems
I filmed this video to show the fault I had with my Audi A2 radio - I fixed it after finding out that the radio had become stuck in the frame and was half pressing the RDS button. Also to note that the screen had been damaged and was showing SAFE on screen before showing 0000.
UPDATE:
We got the RDS button freed with compressed air. We also found the corner of the radio was tight and causing a twist in the framework of the radio, this caused the No. 1 button not to work. Removing the radio and then refitting the radio solved this issue.
Following the SAFE MODE instruction to use TP and RDS together to enable the input of the Radio Code. After following them ( And meanwhile needing to wait an hour with ignition switched on to allow another attempt. )
My Radio would sometimes allow me to access the Code input section, but no numbers would show as they were being keyed in. - I then pulled the radio facia and wiggled the mounting and it started to work. Seems like the RDS button gets stuck down and no input will be possible.
Hope this helps some out there as I wasn't able to find the solution anyway until i found the frame being stuck.
