Heavy corrosion on zippers can be looseled with WD-40 or any other lubricant.
Spray and let it sit a few hours or overnight so that the lubricant reaches the inside of the zipper key and dissolves a bit of the corrosion.
Watch the video carefully.
When opening the zipper, try to wiggle the zipper key left and right to lossen even more corrosion inside the zipper.
If the zipper key can't move, you can undo one side of the zipper at the end just enought to use pliers and remove the damaged zipper key and be able to insert a new zipper key.
If the zipper is made of plastic, it will not corrode but usually the zipper key does corrode and that must be replaced.
No need to replace the whole zipper. only replacing the zipper key with a new zipper key of the same size will make the zipper work again. it's fixed.
