On May 8, at 11 p.m. in Ezer, the commander of the Army Group "Courland", General Hilpert signed the act of unconditional surrender of his subordinate troops. In total 42 generals, 8,038 officers and 181,032 soldiers and non-commissioned officers capitulated to the troops of Govorov's Leningrad front.
