✅ ABOUT MICS (Micro Incision Phaco Cataract Surgery)
In the Phaco technique, a small incision is placed in the eye, and a hollow Phaco needle is introduced through the opening. On giving energy through the tip of the Phaco needle, the cataract lens gets dissolved and is sucked out through this needle. An artificial lens called a foldable Intra-ocular lens is now injected through this small opening. Once inside the eye, it opens up and serves to replace the original lens. Since the eye-opening is very small and designed specially, it self-seals, and no sutures are required. Hence this procedure is also popularly known as “Stitchless” cataract surgery.

The Clareon IOL is a novel mono-focal aspheric hydrophobic lens composed of a flexible acrylic material with a high refractive index. This ultraviolet (UV)–absorbing and blue light–filtering lens uses a different material. ✅Process Of Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery generally takes 3 days (visits).
DAY 1️⃣ – pre-op screening tests (approx. 2 hours) which involve:
◽ Basic eye check-ups
◽ Biometry- perfect IOL power calculation
◽ Blood Pressure (BP), Blood Sugar test, and E.C.G.
DAY 2️⃣ – Surgery (30 minutes in surgery, approx. 2 hours overall, in clearing discharge formalities and paperwork)
DAY 3️⃣ – Follow Up Check-Up (Approx. 1 hour)
Note: Cataract surgery can be performed for one eye at a time. The other eye can be operated on after 2 days (If Al LASER Surgery is done)
