California is currently facing its largest wildfire this year as the Park Fire has scorched over 125,000 acres in just 48 hours. Beginning on Wednesday, in Bidwell Park, northeast of Chico, the fire has rapidly spread, destroying numerous structures in its wake.
The Butte County Sheriff's Department has issued evacuations for rural foothill communities, with nearly the entire town of Cohasset, housing approximately 400 residents, being affected.
According to the Watch Duty app, the fire is "established and wind-driven," prompting mandatory evacuations and close monitoring by authorities. Despite the valiant efforts of firefighters, several structures have already been consumed by the flames, with many more still under threat. However there are no reports of injuries.
