Some animation description:
When I heard "The Accident" audio my first thought was about scene like this one. I am not very well-informed about the video it came from, but here is the link if you're interested:
• LUCIDS: PART THREE
Regardless, it perfectly matched the atmosphere and feelings I wanted to show. In my animation it represents one small part of the story I'm working on, but unfortunatly I don't think I can say too much about the lore, otherwise there are gonna be spoilers. But...
A bit of lore and what's happening here) :
Tim(the guy with picture on the t-shirt) is thinking about life in front of the window. It's night time and he's confident that everyone else in the house is asleep. Suddenly his thoughts are being interrupted by someone's voice. He turns around and sees Egor(The guy in the tank top). The guy, in fact the owner of the house, is aware of what could be the reason Tim is brooding. He wants to help him get over it and move forward. So he decides to take initiative and talk. Tim is surprised by the fact that Egor knows about this part of his past.
Nontheless, reminder about "the accident" makes Tim to look back at the event that happened years ago. At the time he was in charge of a science project that went wrong, which caused a human death. Deep down Tim knows that it wasn't only his fault but that doens't make it easier to accept such a horrible mistake.
In the present Tim's blaming himself. Remembering the helplessness and despair he felt back then is only increasing this blame. That's when Egor comes closer and says "It was completely out of your control." Tim wants to believe his words, but it's hard to do immidiatly.
On the last picture I depicted what most likely is going to happen further.) Egor suggests Tim to go out to take a break. That's why they end up sitting by the river nearby the house where Tim calms down and Egor catches some fish)
I suppose if I'm being asked what's the moral of this short animation I answer: It's important to not invent blame or create causality, especially when it truly wasn't your fault or you couldn't do anything to prevent it. Or even if you do blame yourself learn to forgive and try your best to not repeat the same mistake.
