Dr. Vera Hammer - Curatrix at the Natural History Museum in Vienna, Austria - joins us for Episode Nine of Mineral Talks LIVE as she broadcasts direct from inside the museum - home of some of the oldest documented minerals in European history.
In our LIVE episode, Dr. Hammer was experiencing internet connection issues which led to a mostly audio interview. However, immediately after our interview, Vera shot a video of herself walking through the museum and pointing out many of the interesting features and specimens in the museum collection. Mineral Talks LIVE is a joint-venture effort put on by BlueCap Productions, the Mineralogical & Geological Museum at Harvard University and the Society of Mineral Museum Professionals (SMMP). This series was created as a response to the COVID-19 situation that has been greatly affecting the mineral world by isolating and separating us. Our goal is to bring a new venue where the mineral world can re-connect with each other during these difficult times.
