Bud Sims was an impactful assistant coach for St. John Fisher football for more than two decades. He was part of Paul Vosburgh’s staff that led the Cardinals to six conference titles and five trips to the NCAA tournament.
His work with the offensive line led to several Fisher players earning All-America honors and one player mentored by Sims, tight end Mike Kallfelz signed a try-out contract the Kansas City Chiefs in 2005. Before coming to Fisher in 1995 Sims worked under Tom Coughlin at RIT and then was head coach at Brockport for several seasons.
Sims retired in 2020. Bud Sims was inducted into the St. John Fisher University Hall of Fame in 2024.
